Step-by-Step Guide to Understanding Your Dashboard
As a parent or guardian, you have access to a dedicated view in the Circuit Stream Learning Management System (LMS) to monitor your child’s progress. This guide will help you understand the key features available to you after logging in.
Your Dashboard Overview
Once you log in, you will see an overview of your child’s coursework, including:
- Assignments & Deadlines: A section titled Child’s Work To Do will display upcoming assignments with due dates.
- Portfolio Items: If your child has shared any portfolio items, they will appear in the Portfolio Items section.
- Instructor Posts & Announcements: The Latest Posts section will include messages, updates, and resources from the instructor.
What Happens When Your Child Gains Access to Course Materials?
Initially, if your child has no active assignments or deadlines, your dashboard may indicate that there are no available activities. However, as your child progresses and gains access to course content, your view will update automatically to reflect new assignments, due dates, portfolio submissions, and instructor posts.
How to Use Your LMS View Effectively
- Monitor Assignments & Deadlines: Regularly check the Child’s Work To Do section to stay updated on due dates.
- Review Portfolio Submissions: Encourage your child to share their work and view their progress in the Portfolio Items section.
- Stay Informed Through Instructor Posts: Check the Latest Posts section for announcements, course updates, and additional learning resources.

Troubleshooting Tips for Parents & Guardians
1. I Don’t See Any Assignments or Due Dates
- If your child hasn't received access to the course materials yet, your dashboard may appear empty.
- Once assignments are assigned, the Child’s Work To Do section will update automatically.
- If you believe there should be assignments but don’t see them, check with your child or contact the instructor for confirmation.
2. I Can’t See Any Portfolio Items
- The Portfolio Items section only displays work that your child has chosen to share.
- Encourage them to submit or share their work for visibility in your dashboard.
3. The Instructor’s Announcements or Posts Are Missing
- If you don’t see posts in the Latest Posts section, it may be because the instructor hasn’t posted any updates yet.
- Ensure that your child is enrolled in the correct course by checking with them or the school.
4. My Dashboard Doesn’t Update with New Information
- Try refreshing the page or logging out and logging back in.
- Clear your browser cache if the issue persists.
- If you still don’t see updates, contact technical support for assistance.
5. I Can’t Log In or Access My Account
- Double-check that you’re using the correct login credentials.
- If you’ve forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password option on the login page.
