# Game Design Bootcamp: Software Installation Guide
## Essential Tools for Your Game Design Journey
To help you succeed in the Game Design Bootcamp, you'll need to download and install some essential software, including Epic Game Launcher and Unreal Engine.
### How to Download and Install Epic Games Launcher
Below, you will find the links to install Epic Games Launcher. Please ensure you download the correct version for your system.
- Read [Hardware and Software Specifications](https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.0/en-US/hardware-and-software-specifications-for-unreal-engine/) by Unreal Engine 5 to ensure your computer can run the game engine.
- Download the [Epic Games Launcher](https://launcher-public-service-prod06.ol.epicgames.com/launcher/api/installer/download/EpicGamesLauncherInstaller.msi?productName=unrealEngine&trackingId=ce2c7f74493f4f5a8f1b52b7f37e365b). You will need the launcher to run Unreal Engine.
- Open the Epic Games Launcher file and install it. This installation process may take a while.
- After installation, you will see the Epic Games Launcher app on your taskbar or dock. Click it to open the window.
